Amazon posted a lengthy description of the “Availability Event” which occurred on 07/20/08. It is fairly technical and an interesting read…for a certain kind of person. 
Here’s my favorite line:
“we won’t be satisfied until performance is statistically indistinguishable from perfect”
I just can’t figure out if this is supposed to be reassuring or not. Maybe for a certain kind of person…
